Starting this entry in Utah....
Then moving to warmer lands.....
This is how she feels about being a snowgirl.I think she likes making and eating the snow people the best. (Did I mention that when she gets in the snow she immediately starts to eat it?)
Julz loves spending time with her Grandma and Grandpa and with her cousins.
All sleepers in this picture are faking it. Some better than others!
So now for more on our vacation to Hawai'i!
We had a blast with the family! We all loved the water and the beaches and the snorkeling and the Polynesian center (which we now call Hawai'i's Disney Land). We also loved seeing friends, some who live around the corner from us in SLC, and some who live in D.C. (Funny that you go on vacation to see some friends! even without planning it!) We loved the good weather and we loved the relaxing and the beach hopping. This is Julz' famous "sour face"
These are a few fun shots of adventures around the island.
This picture is our friends from D.C., (the mommy in the family is one of the two friends that set Julz' parents up on their first blind date!) We loved the coincidence that we got to be in Hawaii at the same time!
This is the playhouse with the home we stayed it.
This is our view from down the driveway at our home. The beaches are everywhere.
This is the house we stayed in, behind daddy and Julz.
Did I mention we loved the fish? Kissie- kissie! This is the state fishHumuhumunukunukuapuaa.
And we loved the wild life!
Julz really loves birds and gets really excited when she sees this picture of herself with the bird on her hat and her friend from DC.Utah friends in Hawaii are so fun! I'm glad that we can get together all around the world.
Here are all the guys!
Playing with a sandcastle
What deep thoughts do you think about as you look out on the edge of a vast expanse of ocean? I'm not even going to begin to tell you her thoughts, but she has started labeling things at the
beach...I'll tell you her new vocab from the trip...Hawaii, beach, fish, sand, octupus, shell, etc. It is fun to witness! Maybe we will add a video later. I found a seashell!
She even started putting her tummy in the water and kicking her legs, but she didn't want to go on the boogie board more than once!
This picture is from one day after we hit the waves. Actually, maybe the waves hit us, cause we sure got tossed around out there. We really can't wait till we get to do it again!
We liked the Hukilau Beach cause it was close by where we stayed, not very crowded and the waves were fun for the bigger kids (that's the ones standing up) and for the little kid, (that's the one in our arms).
Pineapple shakes are delicious, we had a mango flavor one. Yumm!
Here she shows us how to do hula dancing!
We loved the Luau and the friends we met. This is a friend of the family in this picture. She was an exchange student from Korea in the families highschool one year. Now she is a student at BYU Hawaii and she works at the PCC.
These boys taught us how to dance like we were from Figi, and then Daddy learned to dance with a fire stick like he was from Samoa.
All good things must come to a pause. Thanks to Nana and Papa for planning and executing this trip with all the other help they got. It built such amazing memories and surpassed our hopes for a fun time together.
Here is the whole group, right before we left, The whole family including the 8 brothers and sisters --one brother in law, two sister in laws (one is me) two grandkids, Julz and her awesome cousin V. and one engaged addition, we are excited for the upcoming wedding in the spring. What a great trip! Look close, Cousin V. shows you exactly how we all felt about this vacation in Hawai'i!!!! (From the mouth of babes....)
