We went to the Salt Lake Temple Square for October Conference Saturday afternoon. It was marvelous to hear the words of the Prophet and apostles. We went to our Utah grandparents on Sunday. We feel really blessed to have modern inspiration from God for our lives.
Our Julz matched the flower beds at the temple. What a cutie.
Families including sisters are what happiness is made of.
The girls were into smelling flowers and enjoying the beauty there, Julz kept saying "Pretty, pretty pretty!"
Little Engine knows where she is going, and have I told you she doesn't ever stop moving?
Aunt S. came to stay with us for awhile. We have been having lots of fun with her.
Somewhere in here mom had a b-day and it was wonderful to spend it with the family. Thanks for making my day special everyone!
We visited the pumpkin patch with our preschool. After learning about how to grow our own next year, we got to go pick the ones we wanted to take home and carve.
Hmm, we forgot to take a finished picture of the jack-o-lanterns. Sorry.
Reading is our favorite thing to do!
Julz loves to tell everyone "My baby is 11 months!" They have lots of fun playing together.
Guess who finally turned one! Little Engine is 1 year old and learning so much that we can't keep track of what she hasn't accomplished yet. She brings joy to our family everyday and loves to give kisses and hugs. She can make you laugh by engaging in play and she loves to rough house and dog pile anyone near the ground. What a cutie.
Aunt S. made cookie monster cupcakes and Little Engine loved the treat. Her favorite gift ended up disappearing moments after she opened it.... Strawberries! She shared a little and wolfed down as many as she could get in her hands. Thanks Aunt K. for the surprise.
So in the middle of the month,J asked me, "Mom, what comes after 11?"
Mom said "12 silly, you've been counting to 20 all morning!"
J: "So why did my baby turn 1 instead of 12!?"
You think you teach them everything and then you realize you skip major concepts! Who needs math anyway?
I wouldn't be true if I didn't mention painting this month. We got the downstairs covered a few times. Carpet is under way too. can't wait for that to be done. (The colors didnt show up well with the lighting and camera we have-- we chose browns and blues over the white primer and it turned out really nice).
Halloween lasts all week!
We had loads of opportunities to dress up for Halloween this year. Every time we went somewhere the girls would choose a new costume from the box. They were both ballerinas at the church carnival, and Aunt S was 'Sam I Am' (see the green eggs and ham on her arm?). Then Julz was a fairy and Little Engine was a sheep driving a tractor. This was for a preschool party and a visit to Daddy's work where we earned $10 for being so cute in a contest. On Sat, Little Engine was a monster and Julz was a doggie (due to a dream she had before she woke up and announced "I am a dog, because I can scratch my head with my foot" and that "dogs don't do chores, except I'm a super dog and so I do chores." As we collected candy at doorsteps that night, she sat on the porch and showed a few people that she can put her foot up and scratch her head like a real dog. What a girl! I wish I could bottle confidence like that and keep it for the teen years.)
