The best news of the evening is that Daddy has finished one of his classes for the semester! Just a few more finals to go till holiday!
And now for the baby news....
Julz has had the traveling bug since Oct she has traveled and spent the night in Portland, Atlanta, Park City, Boise, Nana's and Gpa's in E. Or, Bountiful, and Salt Lake. In addition, she has been to Seattle, San Francisco, Denver(layovers), Lindon and Ogden. Boy traveling is fun, yet makes you glad to be home. She has been a trooper through all of it and has even kept smiling. I think her favorite trips have been visiting family and meeting cousins, aunts and friends.
She is a pro at sitting when we put her down. And even this week she has been able to get herself into a sitting position from the hands and knees position. As for crawling, she is still lunging forward and almost crawling, (she gets up on hands and feet and rocks sometimes). With rolling and scooting, she is really close to success at getting where she wants to be. In addition she is working on sounds, she mastered the da syllable and has even combined it in succession for dada. (The video is bad lighting, but after a few seconds it is kind of cute.) In context it seems like she knows how to talk. She only says mama when crying. I'm convinced that isn't purposeful. Laugh and say dad, cry and say mom. It's not fair. She has also learned to do raspberries with her lips (sounds like b) and can voice many vowels. She does a funny backward talking thing (breathing in and making a sound) really loud when she wants people to look at her. In fact, she uses most of her sounds to get attention of strangers in the airport, stores and public places because she loves to smile at people and make friends. What a great sport she is.
Julz favorite things to stick in her mouth are her shoes, toes, strings, her new cellphone toy and paper. Also she has started to like chunks in her baby food. Hooray.
She has played in the leaves and decided snow is fun too.
Here is her first snow adventure

Halloween and the rest of October
We went to Portland and had a very fun vacation visiting Aunt C and T. We had such a blast exploring the beautiful area and driving to see other
relatives (N, M and J) in Redmond. We ate yummy food and enjoyed learning about Oregon history at a few museums.
Unfortunately "somebody" lost our camera and so we were without the ability to take pictures for most of the trip and afterwards. Luckily, the camera has found it's way home and now we have late pictures of Halloween and a few more tricks that Julz has learned.
Here we are getting ready for bed. Someone loves this time of day.
Julz loves playing with her cousin who lives near her Grandma and Grandpa in Utah. They had a blast teaching each other how to be perfect babies.
Halloween adventures : the costume was made by both parents for a little girl who knows what she wants to be when she grows up....
Julz is wearing an outfit that her mom made one morning just because she might be cute if she wore it. It seems to be true, she's cute as can be in green. The sewing machine started acting up just as we were almost done.

Grandma and Julz having some fun.
It's fun to get together with friends!
Julz is sporting her knit cap.
We like to practice opening our mouths for pictures.
A happy day is one where family comes to visit.
Julz is happy to model a real farmers hat (her grandpas hat). Just wait till you see her for Halloween. The practice will have paid off.....
Here we all are, ready for some fun. Someone in this picture is feeling mischievous. Maybe the one with the long bangs that hang in her face.
Julz loves good food. This is pretty much how she responds every time we feed her! Eating is such a great pastime.
We love to visit Nana and everyone!
And going home is the sad part of the trip.

We are online!
We have now arrived in the 21st century and have an internet connection in our home! Maybe next week we'll get one of those ice box things that keeps food cold. Now we have no excuse to have a dated blog. Pictures and stories to come!

Mt. Aire Hike

Saturday was a scout hike for the On-Target mirror signaling event. A few of us made it to the top of Mt. Aire in Millcreek Canyon. We saw two flashes from the Deseret Peak area, and they saw us a few times as well. Here are a couple of pictures. More to come...
Also, saw Ron Paul at his rally. Vote Ron Paul for president in 2008 if you'd like to have our free country back.
Saw the Utes clean the Bruin's clocks, 44-6. It was ugly. The Utes played great defense. Two years with those Canadians must have rattled Ben Olsen a bit.

What a fun life
Julz is growing up. She is excited to soon loose her crooked smile, we went to a therapeutic massage guy and he adjusted her labaii inferiourous quadraticus and now her muscle is getting stronger and soon to be more equal. Her endearing smile will still be original though. She has also been discovering her drool. She likes to get it on everything.
Julz is especially excited for her new toys from her grandpa. She wants to drive John Deere tractors like he does and is learning by starting small. This is Daddy's favorite picture of you-know-who (Not a HP reference):
Here is a picture without glaring at the camera.
This is a picture of us in the Timpanogas Caves and we are looking at a dog.
We also enjoyed the Stadium of Fire and the Balloon Festival for the 4th of July!
This is the really quick way to see if I'm gaining any weight and the verdict is Yes!

Homework
Today is Julz's first trip to the U.
We are printing off papers so that Dad can pass his exam on Thursday. Since he doesn't have a book and since he doesn't go to class, he has to print off the lecture slides and hope for the best.
It seems to be a pretty good thing so far--gone to class 3 times out of 8 and have an average of 92% on the first two exams.

Delete is Awesome
We have learned how to delete our blogs! Yeah! We did it on accident of course but we love to learn new things. Yeah for learning, even if it is by mistake!
We've had a busy week. It was J-Baby's first ride on Trax, first trip to Temple Square, and first trip to the Gateway Mall.
We took a picture of the exact place that we got engaged.
As you can see, our baby is beginning to smile! It's because we are great parents. It's lots fun. She'll probably start walking tomorrow or something like that since she can smile now. However, her mom has been teaching her lots of self defense. She has quite the knock out punch. Look out.
Our scout troop went and played frisby golf on the top of Solitude. We had a good time trying to hunt down our frisbies in the knee high brush. Good thing they were brightly colored. We even had to throw rocks in a tree to knock one of the wayward stubborn fribies down. There was a tournament going on--pay $60 for the chance to be the lone winner of $190. No thanks. Frisby golf must not be a thinking man's game--or at least not a business man's.
